HOUSTON, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- A.J. Abrams sank two three-pointers in the final minutes of overtime Sunday night as unranked Texas edged 11th-ranked LSU, 76-75.
D.J. Augustin had 25 points, five assists and six rebounds for Texas. Abrams finished with 18 points and two rebounds; Kevin Durant had 10 points and 11 rebounds; and Damion James had 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Longhorns (6-2), who have won twice in their last three games.
Texas gained a measure of revenge after being beaten by LSU in a regional final in the NCAA Tournament last season.
Tasmin Mitchell had 23 points, 10 rebounds and four steals for the Tigers (5-2), whose three-game win streak was broken.
Glen Davis totaled 21 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots; and Garrett Temple added 14 points and four rebounds.
The tight contest was tied, 35-35, at the half and tied again, 68-68, at the end of regulation.
