NFL: Minnesota 30, Detroit 20

DETROIT, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Artose Pinner ran for three touchdowns Sunday afternoon to help the Minnesota Vikings beat the Detroit Lions, 30-20.

Two of his scores and a three-yard touchdown run by quarterback Brad Johnson staked the Vikings to a 20-10 halftime lead.

Pinner rushed for 125 yards on 29 carries, and Johnson was 14-for-22 for 159 yards and one interception. Safety Dwight Smith had four tackles, one interception and one sack for the Vikings (6-7), who forced six turnovers and held the Lions to minus-three yards rushing.

Minnesota has won only twice in its last seven games, but extended its winning streak against Detroit to 10 games.

Jon Kitna was 28-for-41 for 294 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions for Detroit. Kevin Jones caught a scoring pass, and Mike Furrey made nine receptions for 84 yards for the Lions (2-11), who have lost five straight.
