COL BKB: Michigan St. 76, Brigham Young 61

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Drew Neitzel had 22 points and seven assists Saturday to lead the Michigan State Spartans to a 76-61 win over the BYU Cougars in the Spartan Clash.

Marquise Gray was one of two players to record a double-double for the Spartans (9-2), with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Goran Suton had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

The Cougars (5-3) were led by Trent Plaisted with 23 points.

BYU was 2-of-9 from three-point range and 6-of-13 at the charity stripe in the first half, but trailed by just six points at the break, 36-30.

In the second half, Michigan State converted 55.6 percent from the field and 4-of-8 from behind the three-point line.
