CHICAGO, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Shane Doan scored in the sixth round of the shootout Thursday night as the Phoenix Coyotes beat Chicago, 2-1.

Ed Jovanovski scored and Mikael Tellqvist made 30 saves -- and stopped five of six in the shootout -- for the Coyotes, who won for the fourth time in their last five games.

Karl Stewart scored for Chicago and Nikolai Khabibulin finished with 34 saves as the Blackhawks lost their second straight game after winning their first three under new head coach Denis Savard.

Stewart opened the scoring for the Blackhawks at 13:09 of the first period. Phoenix got the equalizer when Yanic Perrault won a face-off and fed Jovanovski for the score with 6:06 left in the second.

The Blackhawks had a two-man advantage for almost a minute in the third, but were not able to make anything of it.

Chicago failed to score on six power-play chances, while Phoenix came up empty in five power plays.
