NBA: Detroit 87, Orlando 83

ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Chauncey Billups scored 31 points Friday night to lead the Detroit Pistons over the Orlando Magic, 87-83.

The Pistons used a game-winning 10-2 fourth quarter spurt to break an 82-82 tie. They were down, 80-77, more than midway through the quarter.

Richard Hamilton had 14 points, 10 rebounds and three assists for Detroit. Ronald Murray and Rasheed Wallace each scored 13 points and Tayshaun Prince had six assists and seven rebounds for the Pistons, who have split their last four games.

They are in the midst of a four-game road trip, which started with a 92-82 win at Dallas Thursday night.

Dwight Howard, celebrating his 21st birthday, had 25 points and 10 rebounds for Orlando. Grant Hill had 12 points, two rebounds and four assists; and Trevor Ariza added 10 points and three rebounds for the Magic, who had a six-game home win streak snapped.

Orlando's Hedo Turkoglu suffered a right-ankle sprain.
