NHL: N.Y. Islanders 5, Pittsburgh 3

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- The New York Islanders scored twice in the second period, and twice again in the third Saturday night to beat Pittsburgh, 5-3.

The Islanders rallied from a 2-1 deficit after the first period.

Viktor Kozlov and Mike Sillinger both scored two goals for New York. Andy Hilbert had two assists, and goaltender Rick DiPietro made 34 saves on 37 shots for the Islanders, who have won two in a row and four of their last six games.

Miroslav Satan scored the other goal, and Jason Blake had an assist to stretch his point streak to eight consecutive games.

Colby Armstrong, Eric Christensen and Mark Recchi each scored a goal for Pittsburgh. Sidney Crosby and Ryan Whitney both had two assists, and goalie Marc-Andre Fleury -- who was credited with an assist for his first point of the year -- gave up five goals on 35 shots for the struggling Penguins, who have lost five of their last six games.
