CHICAGO, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Chicago clinched a playoff berth Sunday with a 23-13 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
A 45-yard punt return for a touchdown by Devin Hester broke a scoreless tie early in the second quarter to help the Bears become the first team this season to earn a playoff berth.
Cedric Benson scored a touchdown on nine carries for 60 yards; and Ricky Manning scored a touchdown on a 54-yard pass interception for the Bears (10-2), who clinched the NFC Central Division for the second straight season.
Chester Taylor gained 99 yards on 17 carries before leaving the game in the third quarter with a rib injury; Ciatrick Fason ran for a score on 11 carries for 75 yards; and Mewelde Moore had five receptions for 51 yards for the Vikings (5-7), who have lost five of their last six games.
On a bitterly cold and windy day, there were an NFL single-game record 10 turnovers.
