COL BKB: North Carolina 75, Kentucky 63

CHAPEL HILL, N.C., Dec. 2 (UPI) -- Wayne Ellington had 17 points and two assists Saturday afternoon as sixth-ranked North Carolina cruised past Kentucky, 75-63.

Ellington was joined by fellow freshman Brandan Wright (16 points, five rebounds), Reyshaw Terry (16 points, nine rebounds, and three assists), and another freshman, Ty Lawson (five points and seven assists).

The Tar Heels won the contest despite a career-low seven points for pre-season All-American Tyler Hansbrough, shooting only 37.3 percent from the field, and being out-rebounded, 39-32.

UNC had a 31-24 halftime lead.

Randolph Morris had 21 points and seven rebounds; Joe Crawford had 16 points, eight rebounds, and two assists; and nearby Durham, N.C. native Bobby Perry had 12 points and six rebounds for the Wildcats, who have dropped three of their last four games.

Before Saturday, the Tar Heels (6-1) had allowed at least 80 points in three straight games.
