Dougherty, from England, shot 5-under 66.

"I was just plodding along and making putts all day, so it was nice,"" said the 26-year-old Ormsby. "I didn't drive it that great today, but the fairways are pretty generous. I still gave myself enough opportunities to go at some pins. I made a lot of putts, that was the best part of the day."

"I played really, really well for my front nine," said Dougherty. "Overall, I am pleased and no bogeys is always a good round."

New Zealand native and 2005 U.S. Open champion Michael Campbell (65) is third at 6-under 136.

First-round leader Scott Strange (70) of Australia is 5-under 137.
