"You've got to kind of put it aside and go forward," Addai told the Indianapolis Star Thursday.

For the season, Addai has rushed for seven touchdowns on 155 carries for 789 yards.

He has been an able replacement for Edggerin James, who signed as a free agent with the Arizona Cardinals in the off-season.

Addai was joined in the AFC by other first-time honorees, punt returner Roscoe Parrish of Buffalo (special teams) and cornerback Asante Samuel of New England (defense).

Samuel made three interceptions to help the Patriots beat Chicago, 17-13.

Parrish had an 82-yard punt return for a touchdown that helped Buffalo beat Jacksonville, 27-24.
