NBA: Denver 103, LA Clippers 88

DENVER, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Carmelo Anthony had a big game Sunday with 33 points, five rebounds and six assists to lead Denver to a 103-88 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

He also made four steals as the Nuggets won their fifth straight game and broke a four-game string of losses against the Clippers.

Earl Smith had 23 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals for Denver. Joe Smith had 15 points and five rebounds, and Andre Miller had 14 points and 10 assists for the Nuggets.

Corey Maggette had 22 points, 12 rebounds and two steals for Los Angeles. Elton Brand had 16 points, nine rebounds and three assists, while Cuttino Mobley had 13 points and eight rebounds for the Clippers, who have lost four games in a row.

The Nuggets led, 52-49, entering the third quarter and went on a 13-4 scoring spurt to take a 65-53 lead. They extended the lead to 79-61 after the third period.

Both teams had 46 rebounds.
