Packers QB Rodgers on injured reserve

GREEN BAY, Wis., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Green Bay backup quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been placed on injured reserve and replaced on the Packers' roster by Todd Bouman.

Rodgers, seeing rare playing time when Brett Favre was injured Sunday, was also hurt in the game. He broke his foot, an injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season. Favre is not believed to be seriously injured.

Bouman is in his ninth year and spent the last three seasons with the New Orleans Saints, where he worked with Packers Coach Mike McCarthy when McCarthy was offensive coordinator for the Saints. Bouman played five seasons for Minnesota before being traded to New Orleans. He has appeared in 42 games -- six starts -- over eight seasons.
