There was no scoring in the third and final period.

Budaj stopped all 25 shots as Colorado broke a four-game losing streak.

Columbus goalie Fredrik Norrena was beaten three times in 28 shots.

Columbus -- which is last in the Central Division and has scored the NHL's fewest goals -- suffered its second straight loss under interim coach Gary Agnew, who replaced the fired Gerard Gallant.

On the power play, Colorado went 1-for-4, and the Blue Jackets failed to convert on any of their four chances.
