NFL: Chicago 38, N.Y. Giants 20

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Rex Grossman had three touchdown passes in pacing the Chicago Bears to a 38-20 victory over the New York Giants.

The Bears' Devin Hester tied an NFL record by returning a missed field goal attempt 108 yards for a touchdown Sunday night as Chicago improved to an NFC-best 8-1. The Giants, which had a five-game winning streak broken, slipped to 6-3.

Chicago trailed 13-3 late in the first half on a drive that was keyed by a 26-yard screen pass from Grossman to Thomas Jones on a third-and-22. Three plays later Grossman connected with Mark Bradley for a 29-yard scoring play to cut the Giants' lead to 13-10.

The Bears took the lead midway through the third period with Grossman hitting Mushin Muhammad with a 10-yard touchdown pass and, after New York quarterback Eli Manning threw an interception, Grossman teamed with Desmond Clark for a 2-yard scoring pass and a 24-13 lead.

New York got within striking distance with a Brandon Jacobs touchdown run and was looking to cut further into the lead with a 52-yard field goal attempt but the kick was short and Hester raced up the right sideline for his record-tying return.
