Cowboys' linebacker out for the season

IRVING, Texas, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- The Dallas Cowboys announced Monday that linebacker Greg Ellis will be out the rest of the season after rupturing his Achilles tendon.

Ellis suffered the injury in the third quarter Sunday's victory over the Arizona Cardinals. The nine-year veteran is expected to undergo season-ending surgery later in the week.

Ellis had 30 tackles, 4 1/2 sacks and an interception this season for the Cowboys.

For his career, Ellis has played in 133 games, all with Dallas, and has 428 tackles, 56 1/2 sacks and three interceptions. Ellis has missed just four games due to injury in his career.
