COL BKB: Tennessee 83, Middle Tenn. 52

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 10 (UPI) -- JaJuan Smith had 16 points and five rebounds, and No. 24 Tennessee used a 16-4 first-half run Friday night to beat in-state rival Middle Tennessee, 83-52.

Josh Tabb had 13 points and four rebounds, and Dane Bradshaw had 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Both Wayne Chism and Ryan Childress scored 10 points for the Volunteers, who shot 48 percent from the floor and led, 45-27, at the half.

Despite shooting only 3-for-13 from the field, Kevin Kanaskie scored 13 points, and added six assists and four rebounds. Tim Blue and Calvin O'Neal scored 11 points each for the Blue Raiders, who made just two of their 11 three-point attempts, and shot only 35 percent from the field.

The Volunteers out-rebounded Middle Tennessee, 39-29.
