Evernham crew man suspended indefinitely

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Craig Curlone, a crew member for the No. 10 Dodge team, was suspended indefinitely from NASCAR Tuesday and fined $10,000 for a rule violation.

Richard Childress Racing officials said Kevin Harvick was walking to the garage with his wife, DeLana, following last Sunday's race at Texas Motor Speedway when Curlone shoved Harvick, sending him and his wife the ground.

The shove was a violation of Section 12-4-A -- actions detrimental to stock car racing; involved in an altercation with another competitor -- in the 2006 NASCAR rule book.

"Those guys decided they wanted to take matters into their own hands and trip my wife in front of their pit box and run her over," Harvick said. "That is a little bit unnecessary so we're not too happy about that."

The designated team owner for the team, James Rocco, said in a statement the team will not appeal the suspension.
