ATLANTA, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Adam Scott shot 4-under 66 Sunday afternoon to win the PGA Tour Championship in Atlanta, the tour's season finale, by three shots over Jim Furyk.

It is the fourth time in five tries that Scott has won when he had at least a share of the lead after three rounds.

The Australian had to overcome late pressure from the runner-up, who shot a bogey-free 5-under 65 on the last day. Furyk's final total was 8-under 272.

"It's been a long time coming for me," Scott said. "It's been a while since I've won a four-round tour event. I seem to be the king of the rain shortened ones right now."

Scott was the only player to score in the 60s in all four rounds.

He won $1.17 million for his effort.

Second-round leader Joe Durant (67) was third at 7-under 273.

Retief Goosen (67), who was a co-leader after round one, finished fourth at 6-under 274.
