Ueda leads the Mizuno Classic

MIE, Japan, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Momoko Ueda has a one-shot lead after two rounds of the women's Mizuno Classic at Mie, Japan.

Ueda, a member of the Japan LPGA, shot 8-under-par 64 Saturday to forge an overall score of 9-under 135.

"I am really happy because I scored a personal best," Ueda said. "It used to be a 7-under-par."

Nabisco Championship winner Karrie Webb (67) is second at 8-under 136.

A group of seven players is tied for third at 7-under 137.

That group consists of five-time defending champion Annika Sorenstam (66), Aree Song (68), Ai Miyazato (68), Jeong Eun Lee (65), Brittany Lang (69), Yun-Hee Ku (65), and Rachel Hetherington (72).

"I'm ready to win," said Sorenstam, whose five straight wins in this tournament is an LPGA record. "I would love to win tomorrow. I've had some great success here. I feel fortunate about that and I don't want to take anything for granted."
