COL FB: Florida 25, Vanderbilt 19

NASHVILLE, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Chris Leak ran for two touchdowns and passed for a third Saturday afternoon to help seventh-ranked Florida avert an upset with a 25-19 win at Vanderbilt.

His second score on the ground came midway through the third quarter to push the Gators ahead, 22-6, before the Commodores staged a late rally.

Chris Nickson passed for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter; Earl Bennett caught 13 passes for one touchdown and 156 yards; George Smith also caught a touchdown pass; and Cassen Jackson-Garrrison ran for a score for the Commodores (4-6, 1-5), who have dropped three of their last five games.

With the victory, Florida increased its winning streak against Vandy to 17 straight games.

The Gators remained on top in the SEC Eastern Division standings.
