Hong wins the LPGA event

GYEONGJU, South Korea, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Jin Joo Hong was a three-shot winner Sunday at the LPGA's KOLON-Hana Bank Championship at Gyeongju, South Korea.

To win the golf tournament, Hong, a native of South Korea and a member of the Korean LPGA Tour, shot a closing 2-under-par 70. Her final total was 11-under 205.

"I thought about going to Japan because my mother lives in Japan and we haven't lived together for a long time," said Hong through a translator. She was responding to a question about her future plans.

Hong is the second straight Korean LPGA member to win this tournament.

Jeong Jang (68) finished second at 8-under 208.

Se Ri Pak (67) was third at 6-under 210.

Karine Icher (72) and Ji-Yai Shin (68) shared fourth place at 5-under 211.

Paula Creamer (72), Mi Jung Hur (73), and 2005 champ Jee Young Lee (72) tied for fourth at 4-under 212.
