LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Two University of Louisville wide receivers charged with assault for an incident with a paintball gun were suspended Thursday.
Chris Vaughan and Scott Long were arrested early Sunday as they allegedly fired paintballs at people leaving the Haunted Hotel, a Halloween attraction near the university campus, the Louisville Courier-Journal reported.
The players will miss at least one game, the Cardinals' match-up with West Virginia. The suspensions are indefinite.
"I've given them some things they have to do," Bobby Petrino, the Louisville coach, said. "If they do it with a positive attitude and the court system plays out, they can rejoin the team."
Vaughan, a sophomore transfer from Notre Dame, has caught four passes for 54 yards for Louisville. Long is a red-shirt freshman.
