NHL: Minnesota 3, Los Angeles 1

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Brian Rolston scored a pair of goals Wednesday night to lead Minnesota to a 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings.

The goals gave Rolston eight for the season.

Todd White scored on the power play in the second period. Pierre-Marc Bouchard assisted on all three goals and Manny Fernandez made 35 saves on the 36 shots he faced for the much-improved Wild (8-1-0), who lead the Northwest Division with 16 points.

Brian Willsie scored the lone Los Angeles goal after assists by Alexander Frolov and Anze Kopitar in the third period and goaltender Dan Cloutier was beaten three times on 29 shots for the Kings (3-6-2), who have eight points and are fourth in the Pacific Division.

On the power play, Minnesota went 1-for-7 and the Kings were 0-for-7.

Minnesota, which missed the playoffs last season, has won all six of its home games this season.
