LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Justin Rose shot a blistering 12-under-par 60 Thursday and has the lead after one round of the PGA's Funai Classic at Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
Rose made birdies on the first three holes, and finished the round with 12 birdies and no bogeys. He had a chance to finish with a 59, but missed a 14-foot birdie putt at the 18th hole.
"I did everything right to shoot 59," he said. "All I wanted to do was have a putt at 59 (and) you never know if you're going to get that putt again."
Rose two-putted on each of the par-5 holes on the course at the Magnolia Golf Club near Disney World.
Richard S. Johnson is alone in second place at 8-under 64. Tag Ridings, J.J. Henry, Bob Tway, Steve Flesch and Charles Howell III shot 7-under 65 to tie for third.
