Georgia RB Brown out for the year

ATHENS, Ga., Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Georgia Coach Mark Richt said running back Thomas Brown tore a ligament in his knee and will miss the rest of the season.

Brown, a 5-8, 188-pound junior, was diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament of a knee after the Bulldogs' lost to Vanderbilt on Saturday.

Brown was Georgia's second-leading rusher this season with 256 yards on 62 carries. He was also the team's top kickoff returner, with 15 returns for 379 yards and a touchdown.
