NFL: New Orleans 27, Philadelphia 24

NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- John Carney kicked a 31-yard field goal as time expired Sunday as New Orleans beat Philadelphia, 27-24.

Drew Brees went 27-for-37 for a career-high 275 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. Joe Horn caught two scoring passes on six receptions for 110 yards, Carney booted two field goals and Deuce McAllister rushed for 64 yards on 12 carries, as the Saints improved to 5-1.

For the Eagles (4-2), Donovan McNabb went 19-of-32 for 247 yards, two touchdowns and an interception; Reggie Brown had six catches for 121 yards and one score while adding a rushing touchdown, and Brian Westbrook ran for 72 yards on 16 carries.

With Philadelphia out of timeouts and unable to stop the clock, New Orleans held onto the ball for the final 8:26 of the contest and knelt down three times before Carney's game-winning kick.

The Saints squandered a 17-3 halftime lead.
