RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Daniel Evans threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to John Dunlap with 10:36 remaining Thursday night as N.C. State upset No. 16 Florida State, 24-20.
Evans -- who started in place of ineffective junior Marcus Stone -- was 13-of-22 passing for 191 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. Andre Brown gained 113 yards on 18 carries, Geron James had one touchdown on four receptions for 91 yards and Ronald Bowens also caught a touchdown pass for the Wolfpack (3-2, 2-0 ACC Atlantic).
N.C. State out-scored FSU, 14-10, in the second half after trailing, 13-10, at halftime.
Drew Weatherford was 16-of-29 for 249 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Lorenzo Booker rushed for 57 yards on 14 carries and caught for four passes for 105 yards, Brandon Warren scored once on five catches for 48 yards and Chris Davis caught a scoring pass for the Seminoles (3-2, 1-2 ACC Atlantic).
