CHESTNUT HILL, Mass., Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Matt Ryan passed for 183 yards Saturday afternoon to help No. 25 Boston College blank Maine, 22-0.
Both Andre Callender and Brian Toal ran for touchdowns; Ryan completed 15 of his 26 passes with no touchdowns or interceptions; Callender gained 75 yards on 11 carries; and L.V. Whitworth caught four passes for 39 yards for the Eagles (4-1), who bounced back from an upset Atlantic Coast Conference loss at North Carolina State last Saturday.
Ron Whitcomb was 16-of-23 for 87 yards and one interception and added 28 yards on 17 rushing attempts; Michael Brusko ran for 32 yards on four carries; and Arel Gordon caught eight passes for 47 yards for the Black Bears (2-2).
Boston College had a big edge in total yards, 360-163.
