RALEIGH, N.C., Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Daniel Evans' 34-yard TD pass to John Dunlap with eight seconds to play Saturday night gave North Carolina State a 17-15 win over 21st-ranked Boston College.

The Eagles (3-1, 1-1 ACC) had won a pair of double-overtime games the past two weeks.

Evans hit Dunlap for a 20-yard gain with 16 seconds left to get the Wolfpack in position. On the next play, Evans stepped up in the pocket to avoid the rush, and heaved a ball deep into the corner of the end zone. Dunlap was locked in man coverage, got position on his man, and made a leaping catch for the go-ahead score.

Evans, in his first career start, threw for 178 yards on 16-of-33 passes.

Eagles quarterback Matt Ryan finished 13-of-25 for 155 yards with a touchdown and an interception. L.V. Whitworth led the way for the Eagles on the ground as he ran for 108 yards on 21 carries.
