COL FB: Arizona St. 21, Colorado 3

BOULDER, Colo., Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Rudy Carpenter threw two touchdown passes Saturday to lead the 23rd-ranked Arizona State Sun Devils to a 21-3 victory over the Colorado Buffaloes.

Carpenter connected on 21-of-37 passes for 248 yards with two interceptions and two touchdowns for the Sun Devils (3-0), who won their first three games for the second time in the last three years.

Ryan Torain carried 18 times for 80 yards and a touchdown and Zach Miller caught five passes for 45 yards and a score.

Bernard Jackson threw for only 86 yards on 8-of-18 passing for the Buffaloes (0-3), who have lost seven straight games dating back to last season. The last time Colorado dropped seven straight was during the 1980 season. Hugh Charles ran for 109 yards on 20 carries.
