PHOENIX, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Arizona used four solo home runs Wednesday afternoon to beat Washington, 4-2, and avert a three-game sweep.
Jackson had a run and three hits for the Diamondbacks (69-77), who have split their last four games.
Winner Livan Hernandez (12-12), a National before being dealt to Arizona in late July, gave up two runs and six hits in eight innings with no walks and five strikeouts.
Jose Valverde earned his 16th save.
Robert Fick hit a two-run double; and Brian Schneider had two of the seven hits for the Nationals (63-83), who also have split their last four games.
Losing pitcher Tony Armas, Jr. (8-11) yielded six hits, including all four homers, in 3 1/3 innings.
It was Washington's only loss to the Diamondbacks in five games this season.
