Jim Furyk captures the Canadian Open

ANCASTER, Ontario, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Jim Furyk Sunday won the PGA Tour's Canadian Open at Ancaster, Ontario, by one shot over Bart Bryant.

In the closing 18 holes, Furyk shot 5-under 65, to finish at 14-under 266.

It gave him 12 victories in his career, two this year. He won the Wachovia Championship in May.

"I gave myself a lot of opportunities out there," Furyk said. "I'd been searching the last couple days for my swing and it kicked in at the right time."

Bryant shot 3-under 67 Sunday and, after a late birdie, came in at 13-under 267.

Sean O'Hair (68) was third at 12-under 268. Brett Quigley (68) was fourth at 11-under 269. Five players tied for fifth at 10-under 270.

Furyk won $900,000.
