MLS: New England 1, New York 0

FOXBORO, Mass., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Pat Noonan scored his only goal of the season Saturday night to give New England a 1-0 win over the New York Red Bulls.

The tally came in the game's eighth minute.

Matt Reis made two saves on only two shots on goal to record his eighth shutout of the year for the Revolution (8-8-10).

New England is second in the Eastern Conference with 38 points, to 51 points for first place D.C. United.

Clint Dempsey and Andy Dorman both had opportunities, but could not score, and Jon Conway made seven saves against eight shots on goal for the Red Bulls (6-9-11), who are fifth in the Eastern Conference with 29 points, just ahead of last place Columbus.
