MLB: San Francisco 4, San Diego 0

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Matt Cain held the Padres to one hit over seven innings as the San Francisco Giants beat San Diego, 4-0, Friday night.

Cain (12-9) took a no-hitter into the sixth, when Brian Giles singled to break it up. He walked three and struck out five.

Moises Alou has two hits, including a home run; and Pedro Feliz had two hits, one run and one RBI for the Giants, who won their second straight and their fifth in six games.

Mark Bellhorn had the only other hit for the Padres, who came into the contest with a five-game winning streak.

Padres starter Jake Peavy (8-14) allowed three runs on seven hits, with three walks and two strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings.
