MLB: Colorado 11, Washington 8

DENVER, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Chris Iannetta singled home the go-ahead run during a four-run eighth inning as the Colorado Rockies beat the Washington Nationals, 11-8, Friday night.

Brad Hawpe had three hits, three RBI and two runs scored; and Jeff Salazar had two hits and three RBI for Colorado, which capitalized on a franchise record-tying six errors by Washington.

Nick Johnson hit a two-run homer and Jose Vidro had two RBI for the Nationals, who have lost three of their last four games.

Jon Rauch (3-4) took the loss for Washington, yielding four runs on three hits in just 2/3 innings.

Nate Field (1-1) earned the win in relief and Brain Fuentes picked up his 24th save.

Washington starter Tony Armas gave up four runs on five hits with seven walks in 5 2/3 innings.

Rockies starter Byung-Hyun Kim gave up four runs on seven hits with nine strikeouts and one walk over six innings.
