MLB: Atlanta 8, Chi. Cubs 4

ATLANTA, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Brian McCann had three RBI and two runs scored Friday when the Atlanta Braves posted an 8-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs.

Adam LaRoche had three hits, an RBI and three runs scored, and Tim Hudson (12-10) gave up four runs -- one earned -- on six hits with two walks and seven strikeouts in six innings for the Braves.

Jacque Jones hit a solo home run and Juan Pierre and Geovany Soto each had an RBI for the Cubs, who have lost six of their last seven games.

Angel Guzman (0-5) suffered the defeat after giving up six runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.

Atlanta's Marcus Giles hit a leadoff homer in the bottom of the first inning.
