MLB: Philadelphia 14, Florida 8

MIAMI, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Chris Coste drove in four runs with a two-run homer and a two-run double Thursday night as Philadelphia beat Florida, 14-8.

Ryan Howard blasted his NL-leading 54th home run and, like Coste, had two runs and two hits. Chase Utley had two hits, including a three-run homer; Jeff Conine also hit a three-run homer; Abraham Nunez drove in one run; while Randall Simon hit an RBI single for the Phillies (71-69), who have won six of their last 11 games.

Winner Jon Leiber (7-9) allowed four runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Miguel Cabrera, Mike Jacobs and Josh Willingham hit home runs; Cabrera had three runs, four hits and two RBI; and Willingham had two runs and two hits, including a three-run homer, for the Marlins (70-70), who have split their last four games.

The loser was Josh Johnson (12-7).
