Stenson moves up in golf rankings

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Henrik Stenson of Sweden and Cristie Kerr made the biggest upward moves this week in golf rankings.

Stenson, who won the BMW Open, jumped six places to No. 11. Kerr changed places with Julie Inkster, moving from fifth to fourth.


Tiger Woods and Annika Sorenstam remain at the top of their respective worlds.

On the men's side, Phil Mickelson is a distant second, and Jim Furyk is third. Vijay Singh and Retief Goosen, who moved up one spot to fifth, follow.

Adam Scott moved down one to sixth, followed by Ernie Els and Sergio Garcia. Luke Donald and Geoff Ogilvy changed places from last week with the Englishman moving to ninth and Donald slipping to 10th.

Kerr, who was runner-up behind Sorenstam in the State Farm Classic, moved from fifth to fourth in this week's Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings. Sorenstam was followed by Lorena Ochoa, Karrie Webb, Kerr and Inkster. Paula Creamer, Michelle Wie, Jeong Jang, Pat Hurst and Yuri Fudoh completed the top 10.
