SPRINGFIELD, Ill., Sept. 3 (UPI) -- After shooting 10-under 62 Sunday, Annika Sorenstam was a two-stroke winner of the LPGA's State Farm Classic at Springfield, Ill.
It was her lowest round in more than three years.
"It's been, you know, a little bit of an up-and-down year," said Sorenstam, the top-ranked women's golfer in the world. "To finish with four birdies in the last five holes was special. I'm going to remember today. It was really satisfying."
Sorenstam had 10 birdies in a bogey-free round, as she earned her 69th career title, and her third victory of the season.
The last came in July, when she beat Pat Hurst in a playoff at the U.S. Women's Open.
Cristie Kerr (67) was second at 17-under 271.
Third-round leader Maria Hjorth (70), Seon-Hwa Lee (69) and Il Mi Chung (69) tied for third at 16-under 272.
