PEBBLE BEACH, Calif., Sept. 2 (UPI) -- D.A. Weibring is a two-shot leader after one round of the Champions Tour's First Tee Open at Pebble Beach, Calif.
In Friday's first round, Weibring shot 8-under-par 64.

His closest challengers, Tom Purtzer and Jay Haas, are tied for second place at 6-under 66.
"I've been playing well," admitted Weibring. "It was a bonus to birdie both par-threes on the front nine. I played conservatively off the tee. The conditions were good for scoring."
Tom McKnight, Loren Roberts, Scott Simpson, David Edwards and David Eger are tied for fourth at 5-under 67.
The tournament pairs Champions Tour players with junior golfers from The First Tee program, as well as other amateurs.
