MLB: Washington 6, Philadelphia 5 (10)

WASHINGTON, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Marlon Anderson scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 10th inning Thursday night as Washington edged Philadelphia, 6-5.

Anderson also hit an RBI single. Austin Kearns hit a sacrifice fly, Felipe Lopez hit a two-run single, and both he and Anderson had three hits for the Nationals (56-77), who snapped a four-game losing streak.

The winning pitcher was Ryan Wagner (2-2).

Ryan Howard set a franchise single-season record with his 49th home run, a solo, upper-deck blast in the fourth, and had three hits; Mike Lieberthal hit an RBI single; a run scored on a passed ball; and Jimmy Rollins had three hits for the Phillies (67-66), who have split their last six games.

The loser was Aaron Fultz (3-1).
