MLB: Houston 10, Milwaukee 3

HOUSTON, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Jason Lane's pinch-hit grand slam capped a seven-run eighth inning Tuesday as the Houston Astros posted a 10-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Willy Taveras was hit twice by Brewers starter Tomo Ohka, but finished 0-for-3 to have his franchise-record 30-game hitting streak broken.

Craig Biggio hit a two-run homer and scored the go-ahead run on Aubrey Huff's single in the seventh for the Astros, who started the day 3 1/2 games behind wild card-leader Cincinnati.

Roy Oswalt allowed four hits and three runs through seven innings for the Astros, and after the game received a five-year contract extension worth $73 million with an option for a sixth year.

Luke Scott also homered for Houston, which won its fourth straight game.
