CINCINNATI, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- The Cincinnati Bengals rolled over the Green Bay Packers 48-17 in preseason football Monday night.

It was the highest-scoring preseason game ever for the Bengals, who have their first 3-0 preseason start since 1976, the team said on its Web site.

Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer, coming back from a knee injury, completed nine of 14 passes to stake Cincinnati to a 34-7 lead by half-time.

A lightning storm in downtown Cincinnati caused the first weather delay for the Bengals at home in 39 years.
