NFL: Minnesota 30, Baltimore 7

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Fred Smoot scored on a 69-yard interception return Friday night as Minnesota trounced the Baltimore Ravens, 30-7.

Starting quarterback Brad Johnson was 9-of-15 passing for 95 yards. Jason Carter scored on a 77-yard pass from reserve signal-caller Tarvaris Jackson.

Ryan Longwell booted three field goals, Troy Williamson caught three passes for 43 yards, and Wendell Mathis rushed for 41 yards on 10 carries for the Vikings (2-1).

Kyle Boller was 9-of-15 for 105 yards, and Steve McNair was 13-of-17 for 80 yards and one interception for Baltimore. Clarence Moore caught two passes for 60 yards, and Cory Ross was limited to 23 yards on six carries for the Ravens (1-2).

Boller scored Baltimore's lone touchdown on a 1-yard run in the third quarter.
