MLB: Colorado 13, San Diego 5

DENVER, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Brad Hawpe had four hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs, as the Colorado Rockies beat San Diego, 13-5, Friday night.

Ryan Spilborghs had three RBI; Todd Helton had four hits and one RBI and scored three runs for the Rockies, who snapped a six-game losing streak. Matt Holliday had three hits, scored three runs and drove in two; and Kaz Matsui scored three runs for Colorado.


Rockies starter Jeff Francis (10-10) gave up five runs on eights hits with three strikeouts and three walks over six innings.

Josh Barfield and Mike Cameron each had two RBI for the Padres, who lost for the first time in their last five games.

San Diego starter Mike Thompson (3-5) lasted just four-plus innings, giving up eight runs and 11 hits.
