Pacers get Harrington, Edwards from Hawks

ATLANTA, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- The Indiana Pacers acquired forward Al Harrington and center John Edwards from Atlanta Monday, part of a deal giving the Hawks a 2007 first-round draft pick.

Harrington spent the last two years in Atlanta after spending his first six seasons with Indiana. Last year, Harrington averaged 18.6 points and 5.8 rebounds in 76 games.

"We're very pleased to have Al back in Indiana," said Pacers President of Basketball Operations Larry Bird. "We think he brings an added dimension to our team. We know what he can do and he'll make us a deeper team and a better team."

Also a former Pacer, Edwards averaged 1.8 points and 1.2 rebounds in his only season for the Hawks. He was signed as a free agent on Aug. 23, 2005.
