MLB: Oakland 7, Kansas City 2

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Barry Zito went eight innings and Bobby Crosby drove in two runs, as the Oakland Athletics beat Kansas City, 7-2, Saturday night.

Zito (13-8) gave up two runs on eight hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. Mark Ellis homered and Jay Payton had two hits and scored two runs for the Athletics, who have won seven of their last nine games.

Mark Teahen and Emil Brown drove in the runs for the Royals, who had won four of five before Saturday.

Mark Redman (7-8) took the loss, giving up five runs on eight hits over six-plus innings.
