MLB: Washington 6, Phildelphia 4

PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Ryan Zimmerman had three hits and five RBI Friday night as Washington beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-4.

Zimmerman hit a two-run double; a two-run homer and an RBI single; Alfonso Soriano had four hits, including a solo homer; while Nick Johnson and Jose Vidro each had two hits for the Nationals (54-68), who have won three times in their last four games.

Winner Tony Armas Jr. (8-8) scattered three runs and six hits in 5 1/3 innings. Chad Cordero earned his 23rd save.

Mike Lieberthal hit a solo home run and had three hits and three RBI; Pat Burell hit an RBI double; while Aaron Rowland had a run and two hits for the Phillies (59-62), who have dropped two straight and remain 2 1/2 games behind Cincinnati in the NL wild card chase.

Loser Brett Myers (8-6) gave up six runs and nine hits in 3 1/3 innings.
