MLB: LA Angels 9, Texas 7

ARLINGTON, Texas, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Chone Figgins hit a go-ahead two-run triple in the eighth inning Tuesday to give the Los Angeles Angels a 9-7 win over the Texas Rangers.

Vladimir Guerrero hit a three-run homer off Rangers starter Vicente Padilla, who was ejected along with Texas manager Buck Showalter. Padilla and Showalter were tossed out of the game by home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt in the top of the fourth inning after Padilla hit Juan Rivera with a pitch.

Padilla also hit Guerrero with a pitch in the third inning.

Maicer Izturis drove in two runs for the Angels.

Hector Carrasco (3-3) threw one inning for the victory and Francisco Rodriguez retired the side in order in the ninth for his 31st save.

Wes Littleton (2-1) allowed three hits in two innings for the Rangers, who had their five-game winning streak broken. Matt Stairs hit a three-run homer for Texas and Hank Blalock, Michael Young and Rod Barajas added solo homers.
