MLB: Chicago WSox 12, Kansas City 2

CHICAGO, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Brian Anderson was 3-for-3 with a homer, two RBI and two runs scored Monday as the Chicago White Sox routed the Kansas City Royals, 12-2.

Jim Thome hit his 36th homer, a two-run blow, and A.J. Pierzynski and Joe Crede each drove in a pair of runs for the White Sox, who have won five straight and six of their last seven games.

Jon Garland (13-4), who has won nine of his last 10 decisions, gave up a run on seven hits with five strikeouts for the victory.

John Buck homered and Angel Berroa had an RBI for the Royals, who have lost five straight games. Mark Redman (7-7) suffered the loss after giving up eight runs on 10 hits in 3 2/3 innings.
